the vibe.

MY BODY IS NOT A PRETZEL- this practice takes work! I don’t pretend to know it all or do it all, and you don’t have to either.  In this yoga we will breathe, laugh, play, sweat, be challenged, have fun, be soft, be still, be moving, be uncomfortable, feel good. We will embrace being many things at once because that’s what we are, always. The good news is, there is no need to take ourselves too seriously in this practice. Having fun is IMPORTANT for humans!

My teaching style resembles me in many ways: off of my mat you can find me spending time with my family & friends, hanging out with my dog, at the beach, cycling, traveling, eating pizza and trying new things. I love making people laugh, and I make sure not to take life too seriously. My love for yoga goes far beyond the physical practice and I truly believe that yoga makes the world a better place one person at a time.

what its about:

showing up. becoming a better version of yourself, creating space in your body, mind and heart. laughing at yourself, embracing yourself as you are in the moment, getting into the dark spaces that are uncomfortable and working to let go one breath at a time, being aware of your flaws and still being able to find your confidence and inner power.

what its not about:

expectations, forcing your body into perfect poses. your past, judgment, your lack of strength or flexibility. your body type. its most definitely not about looking graceful or pretty, not about being comfortable, and not about being better than anyone else. also let me squash the myth that there’s such a thing as being “good at yoga”.

my vinyasa class:

Anyone is welcome. As yoga is about balance, there will always be a nice mix of strength, sweating, stretching and relaxation woven throughout. Mindfulness and breathing play a significant role in order to address the business of our minds, as well as to create space in our bodies. We settle in to postures and refine alignment, and also sync breath and movement. You will have the option to work into fun balances and other playful postures (without taking yourself too seriously)! The ONLY goal is to leave feeling even 1% better than you did when you arrived- (mind body or soul) and maybe have some fun and let go during the process.

my yin class:

YUM. In this slow paced class, we hold grounded but propped up postures between 3-5 minutes. This is the amount of time it takes (scientifically!) to start to open and release the connective tissue (or fascia) that covers every square inch of our body! This tissue gets TIGHT as we go through life causing us imbalance. Not only do you get a physical opening with this type of class, but it relieves stress due to the emphasis on deep breathing and letting go of tension and tightness. It opens you up in MANY ways. This challenging yet simultaneously relaxing class is hard to describe- you just have to try it for yourself!! *a personal fave!*
